TUITION POLICIES, REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

(Revised July 2017)

A.                 Due date for payment: Payment of tuition and fees is due at the time of registration. If payment by cash or check is selected, payment is due before class starts or on the first day of class, at the latest.

B.                 Installment payments: If payment by installments is available, the first payment will be due at the time of registration with remaining payments due at regular intervals. Installment payments require a credit or debit card – the installment payment will automatically be charged to the credit or debit card on the due date.

C.                 Late fees: Any tuition payment not made during the calendar month in which the due date falls will be subject to a 5% late fee. For instance, if an installment payment is due on September 5th and is paid by September 29th, no late fee will apply. If the same payment is made on October 2nd, a 5% late fee will apply.

D.                 Fees: Some classes (not all) require fees. Examples of types of fees are a charge for class materials, a costume fee, or a production fee.

E.                  Class cancellation by InnOVATION Arts for low enrollment: InnOVATION Arts reserves the right to cancel an entire class before the first meeting if minimum required enrollment is not reached. Every effort will be made to offer other available classes to students registered for a class that is cancelled. If InnOVATION Arts cancels an entire class before the first meeting, a full refund of tuition and fees will be provided (or if the student transfers to a class with lower tuition and fees, the difference will be refunded).

F.                  Cancellation of one class session by InnOVATION Arts: If InnOVATION Arts cancels one class session (for instance, due to inclement weather or absence of a teacher), a make-up class will be offered. In the event a make-up class is not offered, a credit will be issued to the student (to be applied to a future payment). If a make-up class is offered, and the student is unable to attend, no credit will be provided.

G.                 Missed classes: If a student misses a class session, including a make-up session, no credit or refund will be provided. With the instructor’s permission, the student might be given the opportunity to attend a different class as a make-up session, at the discretion of the Executive Director.

H.                 Refund policy: If a student drops out of a class after registering for the class, the following refund policy will apply:

1.                  Notification provided to InnOVATION Arts at least one week before the first meeting of the class – full refund of tuition and fees.

2.                  Notification provided to InnOVATION Arts less than one week before but at least 24 hours before the first meeting of the class – refund of 75% of tuition and 100% of fees. If no payment has been made, the parent will receive an invoice for 25% of tuition.

3.                  Notification provided to InnOVATION Arts less than 24 hours before the first meeting of the class and at least 48 hours before the second meeting – refund of 50% of tuition and fees. If no payment or insufficient payment has been made, the parent will receive an invoice for the balance due.

4.                  Notification provided to InnOVATION Arts within 48 hours of the second meeting of the class or after the second meeting of the class – no refund will be made. If no payment or insufficient payment has been made, the parent will receive an invoice for the balance due.

Example: First meeting of the class is on August 24 at 5:00 pm:

  • Parent notifies InnOVATION Arts that the student is dropping the class before August 17 – full refund of tuition and fees.
  • Parent notifies InnOVATION Arts that the student is dropping the class on August 22 – refund of 75% of tuition and 100% of fees.
  • Parent notifies InnOVATION Arts that the student is dropping the class on August 25 – refund of 50% of tuition and fees.
  • Parent notifies InnOVATION Arts that the student is dropping the class on September 1 – no refund.

I.                    Prorated tuition: On occasion, InnOVATION Arts will offer prorated tuition to students who register for a class after the semester has started or on a case-by-case basis. Prorated tuition is not generally offered for all classes. Please ask whether prorated tuition is available if you are registering mid-semester.

J.                   Outstanding balance: In any instance where full payment of tuition and fees is not received (including installment payments), the student and any other family members will not be permitted to register for future classes until the outstanding balance is paid in full.
