FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SUMMER 2018

Q: Does my student have to be in the summer production of Madagascar-A Musical Adventure JR. to go to the Junior Theater Festival (JTF) in 2019?

A: No. Students who are not in the summer production will have an opportunity to join the JTF cast in the Fall. Keep in mind that priority consideration for lead roles in the JTF cast will be given to students who are in the summer production because they will have greater familiarity with the script, story, characters, choreography, and music.

Q: If my student participates in the summer production of Madagascar-A Musical Adventure JR., are we obligated to attend the Junior Theater Festival (JTF) in 2019?

A: No, there is no obligation. When your student appears for a casting audition for the summer production, we will ask whether you intend to go to JTF.

Q: If we decide to go to JTF, why do we have to pay the entrance fees in August?

A: We will collect entrance fees and forms for JTF at a parents’ meeting on August 25, 2018. Registration for JTF opens during the first week of September, and seating in the large auditorium (where many of the JTF events are held) is determined in the order registration forms and full payment are received. We have found it extremely beneficial to submit our registration and payment as early as possible, to ensure that our group receives seating near the front and center of the auditorium.

Q: Will you double cast Madagascar-A Musical Adventure JR.?

A: We may give students in the two-week camp the opportunity to play a speaking part and an ensemble part if enrollment for the camp is high. If any roles are double cast, we will have two performances on July 28th.

Q: Are students in the one-week Madagascar-A Musical Adventure JR. Performance Camp able to get speaking roles?

A: Students in the two week camp will be given priority consideration for speaking roles because they have more time to learn and rehearse their roles. Students in the one week camp will form the ensembles for the show, and there might be the opportunity for lines and/or vocal solos.

Q: Does my student have to participate in the Long Live the Rock Musical summer program to go to Walt Disney World with InnOVATION Arts in the Spring Semester 2019?

A: No. Students who are not in the summer program will have an opportunity to join the Disney cast in the Fall. Keep in mind that priority consideration for lead roles in the Disney cast will be given to students who are in the summer program because they will have greater familiarity with the music and choreography.

Q: If my student participates in the Long Live the Rock Musical summer program, are we obligated to go to Walt Disney World with InnOVATION Arts in the Spring Semester 2019?

A: No, there is no obligation. When your student appears for a casting audition for the summer program, we will ask whether you intend to go to Disney.

Q: What will it cost to go to Disney and when do you plan to go?

A: We are currently exploring the options for performing at Disney. We tentatively plan to go in February or March 2019. The cost of park admission, performance, workshops and hotel is estimated at $600-800 per person.

Q: Is the age requirement for a specific summer program based on the grade the student is in during the 2017-2018 school year or the following school year?

A: The grade requirement applies to the 2018-2019 school year. For example, if your student completes the 5th grade in May 2018 and will go to the 6th grade in August 2019, s/he is eligible to enroll in the Long Live the Rock Musical summer program. When you register, indicate that your student is in the 6th grade.

Q: How do I register for multiple programs at one time?

A: InnOVATION Arts uses an online registration system hosted by Jumbula. If you are a new user, you must first create your log-in credentials (we recommend you use an email address for your log-in that you check frequently, as we will use this email address to send class communications). Select the first class for your student and complete the information requested on each screen. Before check-out (prior to selecting the method of payment), you have the option to add more classes:

  • To add more classes for the same student OR to add different classes for a different student, click on Register for additional classes;
  • To add the same class for a different student, click on Register another participant.

You will return to the first screen in Jumbula, where you can select another class (or the same class for a different student). You do not need to return to the InnOVATION Arts webpage to add additional classes to your registration.
